Forensic Accounting

What is "Forensic Accounting?"

Forensic Accounting ("FA") is also known as Investigative Accounting. FA is a specialized discipline that applies the tools of financial analysis and econometric methods to unresolved or disputed issues. Further, such tools are applied within the context of the chosen dispute settlement process, whether it is negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation. As a discipline, FA encompasses the skillful application of such tools, knowledge of fraud schemes, and a pragmatic understanding of ethical business transactions.
